The Patrick County High School Varsity Baseball team traveled to Tunstall, Tuesday, March 29, and fell to the Trojans 10 – 0. Trojans pitcher Raymond Ladd pitched a 1 hit shutout.

The game was close most of the way, with the Cougars down 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th. After that, the wheels seemed to fall off. Tucker Swails took the loss on the mound.

Jai Penn broke the no hitter with a single in the 6th inning. The Cougars went 8 innings, losing a 4-5 thriller to Halifax at home Friday, April 1. Penn threw a gem for the Cougars, pitching 6 innings, scattering 2 runs on 4 hits. Penn struck out 11 and walked 0. Patrick County took a 3-0 lead in to the top of the 7th.  A couple of defensive errors and timely allowed Halifax to take a 4-3 lead.

Camden Nowlin hit a game tying home run in the bottom of the 7th to send it into extra innings. The Comets were able to get a run in the 8th, and the Cougars couldn’t answer.
