As a free service to the public, Philpott Lake is sponsoring its fifth annual public Safety Fun Day Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the Philpott Lake Overlook.
Public safety officials from Henry, Patrick, Franklin and Bedford Counties, along with other exhibitors, will demonstrate and distribute safety information.
Highlights will include music, food by Friends of Jamison Mill, train rides, frisbee challenge, cake walk, Bobber and Sparky photo ops, courtesy boat inspections, a child identification program, boat simulator, impaired driving course, life jacket relays, and plant sales.
