Phyllis Ann Thacker, 80, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born July 15, 1944, in Patrick County to the late Samuel Grant Hughes and Edna Light Hughes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Hughes and Maynard Hughes.

She poured tremendous love into her family, making family gatherings and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren a priority. She found joy in singing and particularly loved listening to bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music. One of her favorite places to spend time was at the beach. The love she had for her country was evident in her unwavering patriotism; she loved all things American, from our national bird to the colors of our flag. Phyllis retired from the Henry County Public School System where she worked in the cafeteria.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie F. Thacker; daughter, Marsha Davis (Mark); son, Kevin F. Thacker (Rebekah); sisters, Verna Johnston, Judy Morrison; grandchildren, Christian Davis (Angela), Rebecca Davis Lumpkin (Nick), Madison Davis Bruce (Tristan), and Samuel Davis.

The funeral will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Kenny Bowles officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wrightfuneralservices.net.
