Two plaques were dedicated at the Patrick County Historical Society in Stuart; one was in memory of Henry Ayers and another was dedicated to Barbara Baughan. Their families attended the dedication ceremony.

“The idea is that we have not forgotten these fine volunteers who were prominent, dedicated members of the historical society, and both families seemed to be truly touched by the memorial plaques,” said John Reynolds, secretary of the Historical Society.

Reynolds presented a plaque dedicated to Henry G Ayers — the longest serving president of the Patrick County Historical Society, to his family. Included in the photo are Ayers’s widow, Brenda Ayers, and one of his sons, Bradley Ayers. (Not pictured is son, Brent Ayers)
Children accept the plaque in their mother’s honor, Barbara Clark Baughan, former president of the society and museum volunteer. Pictured left to right are daughters Mary Martin, Sarah Bowman, Anne Criss, and son Clark Baughan.
