Primland was recently selected as No. 12 in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2017 list of Top 25 Hotels in the United States.
TripAdvisor is one of the largest online travel sites in the world, with more than 435 million reviews of accommodations, restaurants, and attractions. Hotel award-winners are selected based on reviews and opinions collected in a single year, with an eye toward remarkable service, value and quality.
Primland received two additional top honors as U.S. News & World Report named Primland No. 1 on the list of Best Virginia Resorts as well as No. 10 on The 50 Best Hotels in the USA 2017 list. This ranking is based on reputation among professional travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings. For now, U.S. News & World Report reviews only luxury hotels and resorts for its lists; “luxury” meaning those that consistently receive a 4-, 4.5- or 5-star rating.
“We were thrilled to be recognized by both lists as one of the best hotels in the United States,” said Steve Helms, vice president of Primland. “It is a point of pride for all who work with and at the property to be recognized for the exceptional experience we offer to our guests; something we look forward to upholding in the New Year!”
Helms said that while U.S. News & World Report has recognized Primland in the past, this is the first year the 12,000-acre resort was honored with a spot among the Top 15 best hotels on its lists.
A 5-star hotel and resort, Primland is located in Meadows of Dan and offers five lodging options, an observatory dome, an 18-hole golf course and three restaurants.
Primland’s outdoor activities include horseback riding, hunting, biking, bow and air-rifle shooting, disc golf, fishing, Geocaching, nature walks, off-road adventures, sporting clays, paddle boarding, swimming, tennis and kayaking. Primland also has a spa, yoga and meditation classes, and a fitness room.
