The Trail HANDS group is currently accepting proposals from local artists to decorate cement hand chairs. The five decorated cement hands will be installed at five representative trail heads in Patrick County.
Designs should reflect the heritage, art, nature, dreams and stories of the county. A $500 stipend will be issued to the five artists submitting the proposals selected, and up to a $200 material fee available. The deadline for proposals is Oct. 2. Proposal forms are available at the Chamber Office/ Creative Art Center, Blue Ridge Library, Reynolds Homestead and electronically by emailing talt@vt.edu or nbozenmayer@gmail.com.

The maps will be available at trail heads and at businesses in the community. The project is designed to encourage trail use and promote tourism in Patrick County as well as emphasize heritage, art, nature, dreams and stories of the area.
