QuickStart Tennis of Central Virginia will be training Patrick County Public Schools’ physical education teachers and other interested community members in the county to teach and coach fundamentals of tennis using kid-sized QuickStart Tennis at a session August 8, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the high school.
“While originally created for kids 10 and under, the QuickStart format works for beginners of any age, and it is a lot of fun,” said Lynda Harrill, founder of the system. “It’s also a great way to get kids moving. A lack of physical activity is the primary cause of childhood obesity—over 70%. Nutrition comes next. Playing tennis takes care of the physical activity, and our Go Bananas for QuickStart! campaign covers healthy eating. And it’s all fun for kids,” she added.
“Let’s get the kids in Patrick County moving and learning a lifetime sport!”
