obit-roberson-randyRandall “Randy” Maury Roberson, 65, of Stuart, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on February 2, 1951, to James Maury Roberson and Willodean Webb Roberson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard Webb and Maggie Rakes Webb; paternal grandparents, John W. Roberson and Audrey Reynolds Roberson; and a paternal step-grandmother, Crystal Fain Roberson.
He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Horsepasture Christian Church. He worked as a design draftsman for many years before being disabled.
He had a great love of music and singing. He was an avid fan of Wood Brothers Racing and NASCAR. His sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his devoted life partner, Bonnylee Witt of Ferrum.; his mother, Willodean Webb Roberson of Stuart; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda R. and Steve Bass of Danville; three nephews, Ryan Dalton of Richmond, Dustin Bass and wife, Elizabeth of Durham, N.C., and Tyler Bass of Washington D.C.; two great nephews, Dylan Tate and Phoenix Bass; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held today (Wednesday, September 21) at 1 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Danny Redman officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Military rites will be provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
