The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming November 3, 2020 General and Special Election will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

Any resident who needs to register to vote, or update their address, may do so by appearing in person at the Registrar’s Office, mailing a completed application to Post Office Box 635, Stuart, Va., 24171, or going online at htps://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.

The Registrar’s Office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located in Room 216C of the Patrick County Veteran’s Memorial Building, 106 Rucker St., Stuart.

Virginia law requires all voters to present an acceptable form of identification when voting. Information about acceptable forms of identification ca be found at www.elections.virginia.gov/registration/photo-ids-required-to-vote/.

Registered voters who need to vote early may do so at the Registrar’s Office during regular office hours starting September 18.

The office will also be open on Saturday, October 24, 2020 and Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for early voting.

For those who need to absentee vote by mail, an absentee ballot application must be received on or before Friday, October 23, 2020 at 5 p.m. A request to receive a ballot by mail may be done online at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.

For additional information, or to request an absentee ballot application to be mailed to you, contact Susan R. Taylor, Patrick County Registrar at (276) 694-7206 or staylor@co.patrick.va.us.
