The art of Craig Richards is featured in an exhibit at the Jayebird Gallery inside Hanging Rock State Park Visitors Center, 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road, Danbury, N.C. for the month of September.
Richards has a deep love for the outdoors, spending much of his free time climbing, paddling and hiking. This love is reflected in the essence of his paintings and sculptures. His paintings are primarily in oils painted in Plein Air. His sculptures combine the feel of the natural world coupled with sparks of modern elements.
Richards studied art at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ and received training from several master artists including Heiner Hertling, Louis Escobedo, Elienne Basa, Ralph James and John Budicin.
Richards is the founding member of Triad Outdoor Painters a group of local artists in the NC Piedmont and foothills. He is also Vice President of Muddy River Art Association.
