Richmond Ballet II will bring energy and flair to an exciting repertory of classical and contemporary ballets when they perform as part of Piedmont Arts On Stage on Friday, March 17, at 7 p.m. at Martinsville High School Auditorium.
“We are pleased to be able to bring to the community such a reputable ballet company as Richmond Ballet II,” said Executive Director Kathy Rogers. “This event was made possible through the donations of many to the Alison B. Parker Fund, honoring the memory of Alison Parker. Alison loved the ballet and this is a fitting tribute to her life.”
Alison’s mother, Barbara Parker, was Program Director for Piedmont Arts until her retirement last year.
Richmond Ballet’s dancers come from around the world and have helped earn the company critical acclaim. The executive director of Dance/USA says Richmond Ballet is “a jewel among U.S. dance companies,” and The Washington Post calls it “a company to which dance fans everywhere ought to pay attention.”
During Richmond Ballet’s second engagement in three years at The Joyce Theater in New York City, The New York Times rated the company as “highly recommended.”
Tickets to Piedmont Arts On Stage presents Richmond Ballet II are $25 for reserved seats, $15 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are on sale now at Piedmont Arts, located at 215 Starling Ave., by calling (276) 632-3221 or online at PiedmontArts.org.
