God, in His infinite wisdom, closed the book of life on Pastor Ricky Eugene Anderson on Friday, July 13, 2023. He was born on January 25, 1953, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to the late Carl Edward Anderson and Claytie Vernell Cheek Anderson.

Pastor Anderson enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends, woodworking, and keeping bees. He will be remembered mostly for being a wonderful and caring husband, father, and pastor. He also put everyone else’s needs before his own as he was always visiting his church members and the elderly. He was the pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church for twenty-five years, prior to that he pastored 5 other churches, one in South Carolina, four in North Carolina, where he enjoyed preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and could always be found studying the word of God. He was a strong believer of faith and lived what he preached daily.

Pastor Anderson leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 53 years, Cindy Anderson; sons, Carl Eugene Anderson (Lee) and Richard Eric Anderson (Stephanie); his fur babies, Sophie Jean, and Joy Lynn; three brothers, Robert Edward Anderson (Wanda), Carl Edwin Anderson (Terri), and Michael Irvin Anderson (Pam); and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church. The burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.

Online condolences may be made by visiting www.bassettfuneralservice.com. Bassett Funeral Service is serving the Anderson family.
