As a citizen of Patrick County, I am very concerned about the accumulating trash along our roadsides. It is unhealthy for the environment, it kills wildlife and it is just plain unsightly. This problem is appalling, an embarrassment to our communities and a detriment to our tourism. I understand this problem is nationwide and there is not a lot we can do to solve that but there is something we can all do to solve this problem here within our communities. Please people, take your trash home and dispose of it properly. The garbage you throw along the roads is a reflection of you! This is a beautiful part of the country, let’s all help to keep it that way with one small act of disposing of your trash at home. Take pride in the beautiful country roads we all travel on here. Show a little respect for the nature and ecological system that provide for us all in one way or another. If you love the area you live in, please show it by not contributing to roadside trash. There are so many little things in life that one can do to make the world a better place and accumulatively those little things can make big positive changes. It all starts with each and every one of us. Please, do your part, the rest of us are counting on you.

Cynthia Crawley,

Meadows of Dan
