Robert D. Martin, 93 of Stuart, Virginia passed away at his home on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was born on December 11, 1929, in Slab Fork, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; Nettie and English Martin of Stuart, Virginia. Three sisters, Sadie Wiggington of Stuart, Evelyn Vipperman of Martinsville, and Catherine Nelson of Martinsville. Two Brothers; Edward Martin and Wayne Martin both of Stuart.

He is survived by his wife Hazel Martin of the home and one daughter Karen Wood (Danny) and one sister Ella Hall of Stuart. Also surviving is a Grandson Jonathan Wood (Holly) and three Great Grandchildren; Brooklynn, Bridgette (Hunter) and Levi.

He was a member of Stuart Baptist Church. He was previously employed at Carnation Milk Plant for 23 years. He then worked at American Furniture for 10 years. He had a passion for gardening and raising cattle. He also served in the Army during the Korean Conflict as a shipping clerk in the Post Office. He was awarded The Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 9, 2023, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Norris Funeral Services, Stuart Chapel with the Pastor Mark Heckler officiating. The burial will be at Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart with military rites by Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
