Robert Green Hall, 96, formerly of Bassett, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.
He was born October 7, 1919 in Ashland, W.Va., and was a son of the late Bunyan J. and Lela Wright Hall. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Clara Elizabeth Sink Hall in 2009; brothers, Euel, Fred, and Albert Hall; and his sisters, Lou McBride, Effie Bowling, Violet Greer, Lola Hodges, and Verda Hall.
He was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy where he rose to the rank of Seaman 1st Class. He retired from American furniture Co. where he worked as an assistant foreman for many years.
Surviving are his son, Roger Lee Hall of Bassett; three daughters, Faye Turner of Oak Level and Betty Turner and Sharon Lawson, both of Bassett; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to add their special thanks to Pastor Leonard Hall for being a friend to Hall, and for leading him to the Lord.
The graveside service was held Thursday in Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Leonard Hall officiating. Graveside military honors were provided by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
