Roger Rouellier

Roger Rouellier, age 78, of Meadows of Dan, Va. was called home to the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2025 after suffering for many years with Waldenstrom Macroglobulin. He was born on August 5, 1946 in Waterbury, CT. to the late Francis Roger Rouellier and Josephine Maria nee Flammia Rouellier. He is survived by his two daughters from his first marriage; Dawn Marie (Mark) Jadczak, and Michelle (Joseph) Bychowsky, his loving wife of 11 years; Isabel Cavello, her children Rose (Toby) Ropp, Vito (Annette) Cavello and Isabel (Thomas) Swanson, a brother Kenneth Michael Rouellier, aunt Laurette Marinara, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

He graduated in 1964 from Crosby High School in Waterbury, CT. Roger was a skilled Carpenter. He began his carpentry career in 1970 with CT Carpenters Local 30 and was with NY Carpenters Local 157 when he retired on December 1, 2001. Roger also enjoyed working at Patrick County Family Practice 2 days a week doing maintenance.

Roger was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed riding his 1975 Sportster. He attended many rallies, which included many fundraising events. He loved to cook and was known for his pasta sauce, sausage and potatoes, and sausage with peppers. After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering with the American Red Cross, Shriners Hospital, and he was also known as the “Ice cream man” for his time at Izzy’s Ice Cream & Treasure Chest.

Roger was a devoted member of Risen Lord Roman Catholic Church in Stuart, VA. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1964-1967. He was stationed in Fort Dix, NJ, Fort Gordon, GA, Vietnam, Thailand, S. Korea and Fort Frederick, MD where he attended communications schooling at the Pentagon.

Roger will be lying in state at Norris Funeral Services Stuart Chapel for family and friends to view and sign register book followed by a mass at Risen Lord Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April,28, 2025 at 1:00 pm and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. There will also be a burial with full military honors at Southwest Virginia Military Cemetery in Dublin, VA on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
