Sandra Dare Bryson Cox “Sandi”

Mrs. Sandra Dare Bryson Cox “Sandi”, age 79 of Stuart, Virginia passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia on June 28, 1945, to the late Richard McCoy Bryson and Dorothy Gray Wingfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Richard Howard “Ricky” Cox; two sisters, Joy Ruth Bryson and Marsha Lee Bryson; and one brother, David Irby Bryson. Mrs. Cox was a graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1963. She enjoyed gardening, watching hummingbirds, cooking shows, and vacationing at the beach. Sandi will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family (including every friend her children brought home); she especially adored being “Granny” to grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth Howard Cox of the home; three sons, Whitney Gray Cox (Connie) of Stuart, Kenneth Tracy “Trey” Cox (Jennifer) of Stuart, Walter Robert “Robin” Cox (Janet) of Patrick Springs; daughter-in-law, Sonya Cox of Laurel Fork; ten grandchildren, Matthew Cox, Amber Cox, Madison Heath, Zachary Cox, Dylan Cox, Austin Cox (Tabitha), Holli Cox, Bryson Cox, Riley Epperly, and Kendall Epperly; three great-grandchildren, Landon Jessup, Brennen Cox, and Raven Hylton; four siblings, Kimberly Bryson of Danville, Debroah Hornick (Joe) of Collinsville, Richard Bryson of Florida; and Debra Bryson of Greensboro, NC; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Bridgette.

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Cox will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
