Tickets are now on sale for Savory September, Piedmont Arts\u2019 annual party and fund-raiser for the arts.\r\nThis year\u2019s event will celebrate the food and culture of India on Friday, September 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the museum.\r\nOver a dozen local chefs will prepare and serve heavy hors d\u2019oeuvres with an Indian theme. Guests can also enjoy a cash bar featuring Indian beer and mango mojitos.\r\n\u201cIndian food is a celebration of aromatic spices, a plethora of flavors and multiple textures,\u201d said Gayatri Titus, a Piedmont Arts board member and chair of the committee planning the event. \u201cSo, when you eat Indian food it\u2019s like you are embarking on a journey; You travel to different Indian states and cities. Each food prepared by our talented chefs will offer its own concoctions of aromas, spices, flavors and textures. We invite everyone to come join us on this journey and sample some gastronomic delights of India. Namaste.\u201d\r\nWhile savoring the tastes of India, guests can take part in traditional Indian dancing and have their photos made in the Savory September photo booth.\r\nThere are also more ways to support the arts, like participating in a 50\/50 raffle or bidding on authentic Indian items in a silent auction.\r\n\u201cIn the past, our 50\/50 raffles have raised thousands of dollars,\u201d said Piedmont Arts Executive Director Kathy Rogers. \u201cIt\u2019s a great way to raise money for the museum and reward one lucky community member for their support of the arts in MHC.\u201d\r\nThe 50\/50 raffle tickets are $10 each or $50 for six. Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at Piedmont Arts, located at 215 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, or at the museum on the night of the event.\r\nAdmission tickets to Savory September are $25 each and include one complimentary drink per ticket.
