Surry Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program will host a free Bilingual Community Wellness Event on Thursday, August 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Yadkin Center, 1001 College Drive, Yadkinville.
The community-focused event is designed to provide valuable information about pain management, movement, wellness, and the benefits of physical therapy. Open to individuals of all ages, the event will offer resources and education in both English and Spanish, making wellness information accessible to a broader audience throughout the region.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in live demonstrations led by PTA faculty and students, ask questions about common physical health concerns, and learn practical strategies for improving mobility and reducing pain. Participants will also receive a take-home wellness kit while supplies last.
“We want community members to leave with practical tools they can use every day to improve their health and well-being,” said Jessica Lawrence, PTA Program Director at Surry Community College. “Whether someone is dealing with pain, caring for a family member, recovering from an injury, or simply interested in learning more about healthy movement, this event offers valuable information and resources in a welcoming environment.”
Event highlights include live demonstrations, question-and-answer sessions, and take-home wellness kits. Admission is free; however, pre-registration is required. Community members may register online at bit.ly/SurryPTAevent2026.
