School personnel changes approved

Following a closed session at the April 14 meeting, the Patrick County School Board approved the following personnel changes:
The board approved the transfer of Shannon Brown as principal at Stuart Elementary School to instructional coordinator for the division, effective July 21.
Marcie Murphy was transferred from assistant principal at SES to principal at SES, effective July 1.
The board accepted the resignation of Dr. Karen Wood, director of federal programs, effective April 1.
The board accepted the resignation of Julia Terry, instructional facilitator in English at Meadows of Dan Elementary School, effective at the end of the current school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Annette Bowers, instructional facilitator in math at Woolwine Elementary School, effective at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.
Emily Wimmer was hired as a special education teacher at Patrick County High School, and Jean Cottner was hired as an English teacher at PCHS. Both appointments will go into effect at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.
The board accepted the retirement of David Clement, health and physical education teacher at PCHS, effective at the end of the current school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Rachel C. Lewis, elementary guidance counselor for the division, effective at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Douglas Chilton, head coach for girls’ basketball at PCHS.
The board approved the rehiring of Elizabeth “Libby” Ragsdale as a family and consumer science teacher at PCHS, effective for the 2016-2017 school year.
The board approved the transfer of Christina Hylton from English teacher at PCHS to theatre arts teacher at PCHS, effective for 2016-2017.
The board accepted the following new hires: Jesse Kelly, division guidance counselor; Mike Hedrick, physical education teacher and girls’ varsity basketball coach at PCHS; and Whitley Craig, elementary teacher at SES. Those positions will become effective at the beginning of the new school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Billy Stegall, bus driver, effective March 1; and Christopher Pendleton, bus mechanic, effective April 12.
The board accepted the retirement of Gary Griffith, bus driver, effective at the end of the current school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Jimmy Vipperman, teacher assistant at SES, effective April 22.
The board approved the transfer of Jamie DeHart from custodian at SES to custodian at PCHS, effective June 1.
