School staffing changes

The Patrick County School Board reports the following personnel changes:

Two new teachers will join the staff at Hardin Reynolds Memorial School. JoLacy Davis will join HRMS as an elementary teacher on January 3. Ellen Haas will teach sixth- and seventh-grade science starting in January.

Jennifer Cox, an elementary teacher at HRMS, has resigned effective January 3. Rebecca Cox, a long-term substitute for sixth- and seventh-grade science will step out of that position on December 20.

In the area of transportation, school bus driver Benet Taylor has resigned effective December 31. Substitute bus drivers Derek Wagner and Baron Hoepelman will become full-time drivers. Wagner will start January 3.

At Patrick County High School, Ashley Strickland will not be this year’s junior varsity assistant softball coach. Lynell LeViner, special education teacher at PCHS, will retire at the end of the 2016/2017 school year.

Regarding teacher transfers, Abigail Barone will go from being special education teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School to sixth- and seventh-grade social studies teacher at Stuart Elementary School.
