The Floyd Center for the Arts is mounting a new show with the theme of Community.

The Community Show, on display in the Hay Loft Gallery, features art work from the region’s artists related to their community.  In addition, at the Breezeway Gallery visitors can see the Floyd Livestock and County Fair Photography winners’ exhibit.

On display in the Falcon Gallery is The Frieda Howard retrospective exhibition including sculptures, assemblages and wearable artworks made from a variety of media, including welded steel and manipulated found objects.

A special Meet the Artists Reception is Saturday October 21, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Artists participating in the show are: Blue Mountain School students, Charlie Brouwer, Kathleen Dawe, Christian DeMaria, Megan Elder-Taylor, Barbara Gillespie, Art Haase, Henry Hardt, Winter Hart, Donna Hartpence, Tacie Jones, Elizabeth Mears, Michael Mears, Darcy Meeker, Pamela Moore, Christina Ohara, Shaelyn Renée, Sydney Wellman, Howard Wenger, Batya Weimbaum, Adija Wolf and Russ Young.

The gathering promises to inspire and impress – and offers a rare fall-time opportunity to mingle with outstanding talent of all ages.  Opening reception is free with light refreshments and a cash bar.  The Community Show will be on display until November 25th.
