One man was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center following a single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning, according to a report from State Trooper J.M. Hylton.
Around 5:40 a.m., a 2004 Ford Escape SUV traveling eastbound on Rt. 58 came around a curve, ran off the road, struck a ditch and overturned, Hylton said.
The accident happened about one mile west of Howell’s Grocery.
The SUV’s driver, William C. Hall Jr. of Meadows of Dan, was treated for injuries at Pioneer Community Hospital, as was passenger Robert Marshall, also of Meadows of Dan.
The second passenger, James C. Harris, was taken to Rotary Field and then airlifted by helicopter to the trauma center in Winston-Salem.
Hall was charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain control, failure to wear a seat belt, and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
