Piedmont Arts will host Chalk Fest Family Day on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gravely-Lester Art Garden.

Enjoy a day of family fun while decorating the sidewalks in the Art Garden with colorful chalk art. This socially distanced Family Day is designed to keep guests safe.

“Chalk Fest Family Day is a free event for all ages,” said Programs Coordinator Holly Burton. “We’ll have a designated spot and a bucket of chalk for each participant, and we’ll spend the day decorating the sidewalk in the Art Garden.”

Guests are encouraged to practice social distancing, wear masks and have fun.

Artist Christina Davis will give a demonstration at 11:30 a.m. Davis is a chalk artist and art teacher from Lynchburg, Virginia. She has created public and private murals across central Virginia.

Complimentary snacks will be provided. All ages are welcome to participate and admission is free.

Chalk Fest Family Day is sponsored by Carter Bank & Trust.
