Hardin Reynolds Memorial School held its annual spelling bee on Nov. 20. Thirty-two students participated as the top spellers in grades four through seven.
Congratulations to the winner, Heather Brim. She is the daughter of Teresa and Charles Burnette and is a sixth-grader who enjoys art, sports, cooking, and playing video games. She plays basketball and is a member of the Jr. Beta Club. She said her favorite subject is science, and that she enjoys spending time with her friends and sisters. She also enjoys writing in her journal during her free time.
Heather Edwards won the first runner-up ribbon. She is the daughter of Joey and Candi Edwards. She is a seventh-grader whose major hobby is dancing. This includes ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical dance. She performed in an original production of “Build Your Dreams” in Orlando Florida with the Jam Project. She also is a member of Jr. Beta and Challenge Club, and her favorite subject is math.
Lindsey Jones is the second runner-up in the Spelling Bee. She is the daughter of Jodi and David Jones. She is a seventh-grader, she is a member of Jr. Beta and Challenge Clubs. Her interests including playing soccer, reading, and drawing. Her favorite subjects are science and reading, and she wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up.
