JV Cougar Baseball Beats Bassett

The PCHS JV Baseball team traveled to Bassett on March 20, defeating the Bengals 9-0. Patrick County rode the arms of starters Jaxon Handy and Brent Errichetti with a combined 16 strikeouts in the win. Handy went 4 innings on the mound, striking out 8, allowing 0 hits and no runs. Errichetti went 3 innings, striking out 8, allowing 1 hit and no runs. Caleb Vaughn had 1 hit and 2 RBIs. Handy had 1 hit and 2 RBIs. Levi Hankins had 1 hit and 2 runs.


JV Baseball Opens with Win

The PCHS JV Baseball Team started their season on Thursday March 19, with a 17-1 win on the road against Mount Airy.

PC scored 6 in the 1st inning, then went on to score every inning in the 5-inning mercy rule game. Levi Hankins had 3 hits, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs. Charlie Tabor had 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Ben Joyce had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Ian Baker had 3 hits and 2 runs. Caleb Vaughn had 2 hits and 3 runs scored. Tabor started on the mound for the Cougars going 2 innings, striking out 4, allowing 1 hit and no earned runs. Joyce threw 1 inning, striking out 2 and allowing no runs. Ayden Garcia went 1 inning, striking out 1 and allowing 1 run. Levi Hankins added 1 inning, allowing no runs.
