Stone to seek reelection in November

Sandra K. Stone, incumbent Patrick County Treasurer, announced that she will seek re-election to a fourth term in the November 7 election.  

Stone has worked in the treasurer’s office since 1998. She was first elected to the post in 2011. During her tenure, the treasurer’s office has maintained accreditation every year as well as implementing credit card payments, the installation of a drop box for payments, lifetime dog tags and has maintained a real estate and personal property collection rate of more than 96 percent annually.  

A Patrick County native, Stone is a 1983 graduate of Patrick County High School. She received her Master Governmental Deputy Treasurer certification in August 2002 and her Master Treasurer Governmental certification in July 2013 through the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia and the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.

Stone said she “is honored to serve the citizens of Patrick County, is committed to maintaining financial integrity within the office while continuing to work hard to provide excellent customer service to the citizens.”
