Stone to seek third term

Sandra K. Stone, incumbent Patrick County Treasurer, announced that she will seek re-election to a third term in the November 5 election.

Stone has worked in the treasurer’s office since 1998 before she was elected Treasurer in November, 2011. The treasurer’s office has maintained accreditation every year in her tenure.
She said in a news release “she is honored to serve the citizens of Patrick County and is committed to maintaining financial integrity within the office while continuing to work hard to provide excellent customer service to the citizens.”
Stone, is a Patrick County native, and is a 1983 graduate of Patrick County High School. She received her Master Governmental Deputy Treasurer certification in August, 2002 and her Master Treasurer Governmental certification in July, 2013 through the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia and the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.
She is married to Jeff Stone and they live in Patrick Springs. They have one son, Tyler Stone, a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and David York, and a grandson Owen York.
