Patrick businesses and residents have a limited amount of time to support the county’s application for funds earmarked for broadband upgrades, according to a release from Bryce Simmons, director of the Patrick County Economic Development Authority (EDA).
The county is applying for state funds through the 2021 Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI). “This application is being submitted in compliance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Patrick County and RiverStreet Networks,” Simmons wrote.
RiverStreet is providing matching funds of $400,000 for the 2021 VATI Application, with no direct funds being allocated on behalf of Patrick County, he added.
The application must be submitted by the end of business today, Aug. 17.
To support this application, complete the sample letter of support or respond to EDA@co.patrick.va.us.
