Vada Irene Boyd Dowling, 74, of Bassett, died Thursday, July 7, 2016.
She was born in Woolwine on January 1, 1942, and was a daughter of the late Luther Boyd and the late Myrtle Conner Boyd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Dowling; a daughter, Tammy Dowling Young; a brother, Melvin Boyd, and a sister, Lillian Boyd.
Vada was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley Brookshier, Dreama Sherwin, Donna Catron, and Lorie Dowling; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Carlie Boyd, and three sisters, Vera Witt, Eva Mize and Iver Flater.
The funeral service was held Monday in Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor James Thomas officiating. Burial was at Henry Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.bassettfuneralservice.com.
