The Cougar bats finally came to life, defeating GW Danville 24-1 in four innings at home, on Tuesday, April 2.

Colby Vernon was in the zone, picking up four hits and leading the Cougars to a 24-1 win.

In the first inning, Patrick County got their offense started when Vernon singled, scoring one run. He also singled in the second, doubled in the second, and singled in the fourth.

The second inning was a monster for Cougars, plating 16 runs with Josh Cockram, Taylor Swails, Vernon, Jacob Mullis,  and Landon Augustine all driving in runs.

Cockram earned the victory on the hill for the Cougars going two innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out five and walking one.

Lane Taylor and Kelon Penn entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Patrick County totaled 18 hits in the game with Vernon, Cockram, McCray, Sawyers, and Augustine each collecting multiple hits for the Cougars.
