By Ashlee Mullis

The Cougars had a 18-0 win on at GW Danville on Thursday, April 25. The Lady Cougars came out strong in the first, scoring six runs. They added nine more in second and three more in the third. Danielle King went 3-3 with a double and triple. Erin Keith also had a double and triple.
Katherine Beckett was credited the win in the circle for the Lady Cougars and recorded six strike outs, one hit, and one walk.

Jordan Haas hustles to get a fair ball in the outfield.

The Cougars, however, took a 1-16 loss on the road at Halifax on Wednesday, April 24. Danielle King and Kansas Cutchins had the lone hits for Lady Cougars, while Mackenzie Belcher reached base twice on walks.

In the third inning and with two outs, Belcher had a great turn at bat. She started with two quick strikes and then fought her way with balls and foul balls to get the walk. Montana Moorefield got a walk and brought King up to bat. She had a hard ball hit to shortstop and reached first safely. That was the hit that would score the lone run as Belcher came across the plate after the throw.
