The Patrick County High varsity volleyball team fell to James River in straight sets on October 22, 7-25, 19-25, 16-25.

The Lady Cougars got off to a slow start in the match. Missing starting Libero Journey Moore, many of the Lady Cougars played the match in unfamiliar positions. James River came out strong, taking a six point lead at 6-12, then going on a 0-12 run and finishing the set, 7-25.

In the second set, the Lady Cougars seemed to come together, playing better as a unit and keeping it close for much of the set. A late James River run allowed them to pull away and win the set 19-25.

The third was close for the first half of the set, with both teams playing well. James River was able to put points together in short runs, and would slowly pull away from the Lady Cougars and win the set 16-25.

Leading the way for the Lady Cougars was Jayden Callahan with 9 digs and 7 kills. Chloe Hubbard had 8 digs and Camille Gonzalez added 7 assists and 6 digs.
