Volunteer Banquet garners support of community

Several businesses and/or individuals recently contributed to a banquet for Patrick County Community Food Bank volunteers, according to Rhonda Pruitt, director, and organizer of the banquet.


“I would like to publicly recognize and thank the businesses that contributed to this event. It is a welcome sight to have so many willing to donate to a worthy cause, especially considering the last year. Thanks so much for your support,” Pruitt said.

Businesses contributing to the banquet included Worley Machine, Gipsey Cassady, Libby Wood-Mary Kay, Libby Cassell-Pampered Chef, NAPA, Mike Scott, Wayside Park, Dominion Valley Park, Keith Gunter-Beach Festival, Claudville Café, Boyd’s Restaurant, Joe and Virginia Lanham, Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, Patrick County Visitors Center, Friendly’s, Farmstead on a Hill, Flowers Bakery-Martinsvlle, Polling Enterprises, Primland, Firewater, Hamm’s Garage, Mattie B’s, Hall Propane, Swails Insurance, Stuart Family Restaurant, Lowes Foods, Blue Ridge Mountain Realty, JC Joyce Trucking and Paving, Uptown Cuts, A Salon on 8, Woodland Salon, Martinsville Speedway, Tom’s Barber Shop, River Ridge Salon, Hardees, Clark Gas and Oil/Circle K, Patrick Building Supply, Insurance Center of Patrick, Wren Williams, Reynolds Homestead, Moody’s Funeral Home, Wendell Terry/PCHS Greenhouse, All Seasons, Stanburn Winery, Wood Brothers, J&P Contractors, Vicky Hutchens, Clayton Kendrick.
Participating musicians included The Over the Hill Gang, Johnny Joyce, Doug Joyce, Darrell McCumbers, Junior and Ramona Cassady, and Charles Bowman.

“Thanks again for your support,” Pruitt said, and noted that the next food distribution will be June 9, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m.
