The deadline to register or update address information on voter registrations for the upcoming June 13
Democratic and Republican primaries will be at 5 p.m. on May 22.
Anyone who needs to register to vote or update an address may do so by appearing in person between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday in the Registrar’s Office, which is located in the Patrick County Veteran’s Memorial Building, 106 Rucker St., Room 216C, Stuart
Completed forms also may be mailed to the Registrar’s Office, P.O. Box 635, Stuart, VA, 24171. Changes also may be completed online at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/Registration/Eligibility.
Virginia law requires all voters to present an acceptable form of identification when voting. Information about acceptable forms can be found online at http://www.elections.virginia.gov/voter-outreach/photo-id.html. A free voter identification card is available to any voter who does not have a valid form of identification, and can be obtained by visiting any Registrar’s office.
Registered voters needing to vote by absentee ballot may do so in the Registrar’s office during regular office hours. The office also will be open on Saturday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the purpose of in-person absentee voting. If you need to absentee vote by mail, an absentee ballot application must be received on or before Tuesday, June 6, 2017. A request to receive an absentee ballot by mail may be done online at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.
