Wilburn Franklin “Bo” Lynch, age 93, of Mount Airy, N.C., died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Ridgecrest Retirement Community.
He was born February 19, 1923 in Patrick County, and was a son of the late Franklin Benjamin and Cora Brook Boyles Lynch. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hester Eunice Stanley Lynch, and by a son, Franklin Allen Lynch.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II where he received four Battle Stars, the Good Conduct Metal and was a D-Day survivor.
He was retired from Dixie Tractor Co. and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, brotherhood president and worked in various other activities.
Surviving are one granddaughter, Kayla Kristin Lynch of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Golda Lynch Quesinberry and husband Alden of Severna Park, Md., one brother and sisters-in-law, Ruffin E. Lynch and wife Geraldine of Meadows of Dan, Guiwana Compton of Bassett, and Alda Stanley of Stuart, a brother-in-law, Ledford “Pat” and Carol Stanley of Meadows of Dan, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy by the Rev. Alton Bledsoe. Burial was in Skyline Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 137 Antioch Ave. Mount Airy, NC. 27030.
