William Cecil Holt, 83, of Collinsville, VA (formerly of Stuart, VA) passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Mulberry Creek Nursing Home in Martinsville, VA. He was born on January 18, 1940, to the late Lucy Lois Wood and Ernest William Holt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Holt and Glenn Holt.
He worked at Sprint as a cable splicer, had a large garden and a green thumb, was very generous with his garden produce, was in the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Francis Holt of the home, one daughter, Marsha H. Kiser of Florida, one son, Larry W. Holt of Collinsville, VA, two brothers, Clarence Holt of Westfield, NC, Guy Holt of Stuart, VA, six grandchildren, Caleb, Jonathan, Matthew, Katlyn Kiser, Cody and Lundyn Holt. There are several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday June 10, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services in Stuart with LT. Colonel Scott Kiser officiating. Burial will be at Cross Roads Community Church Cemetery (formerly known as Aarons Corner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery) in Westfield, NC with military rites by Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm.
