William Robert “Bobby” Kodenski, age 75, of Stuart, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart.
He was born in West Virginia on April 7, 1941, and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Kodenski and Effie Rorrer Kodenski Landreth.
He served in the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of Stuart United Methodist Church, and was also a member of Masonic Lodge 263, VFW Post 7800 and the American Legion Post 105. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Brian Penix of Franklin, Tenn.; a grandson, Max Penix; three sisters, Helen Roberts of Bassett, Mary Ann Parker of Canton, Ga., Julie Catlette of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and four brothers, Frank Kodenski of Patrick Springs, Mike Kodenski of Bassett, Ronald Kodenski of Patrick Springs and Jerry Kodenski of Woolwine. A memorial service was held Sunday at Stuart United Methodist Church with Pastor Tommy Shepherd officiating. Burial was private. Memorials may be made to Stuart United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 946, Stuart, Virginia 24171, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
