Last week, a Stuart woman was sentenced to serve more than three years in jail in connection with a 2016 incident.
Michelle Spencer Reed was found guilty June 6 of assault on a law enforcement officer in connection with a May 21, 2016 incident, according to records in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office
Initially, Reed was charged with attempted capital murder, after allegedly trying to harm a Patrick County deputy.
Reed was sentenced on an amended charge of assault on a law enforcement officer, records showed.
She was sentenced to a total of five years, with one year and six months suspended.
Reed also was found guilty of escape by force, in connection with the May 21, 2016 incident. She was fined $500 and was ordered to pay $1,118 in costs, court records showed.
A reckless driving charge was not prosecuted, according to court records.
