The Woolwine Elementary School beauty pageant was held on Friday, May 18 in the Woolwine Elementary School auditorium.

Jeannie King, principal, served as the emcee.

The pageant, Once Upon A Time in Fairyland, began with the introduction of the 2016 winners Katy Shepherd and Kiley Martin. Shepherd is the daughter of Brent and Stephanie Shepherd. Martin is the daughter of Jeff and Leslie Martin.

Escorts were Kameryn and Nicholas McMillian, sons of Gail and Tony Smith; Conner King, son of Jeannie and Glenn King; and Devin Walker, son of Angie and Tony Walker.

Kaylee Marie Belcher was crowned the 2018 Little Miss Woolwine winner. She is the daughter of Curtis Belcher and Amber Lawless.

Bethany Lynn Goode was crowned the 2018 Junior Miss Woolwine. She is the daughter of David and Connie Goode.

Marlee Nevaeh Boyd was crowned the Young Miss Woolwine. She is the daughter of Walter Boyd.

The pageant committee thanked the director, Verna R. Shepherd; judges, contestants, parents and sponsors: Woolwine Elementary (Jeannie King/principal and staff), Bassett Furniture (furniture), Hopkins Lumber (truck & entry fee for the Stuart Christmas Parade), Ronnie Haynes (fairy stones), Karen Furr-(sashes), Lake Market-Bassett, VA (donation), Stephanie Shepherd (photography), Judy E. Rose, (book/”When the Fairies Cried”), The Enterprise, and helpers: Greg Rorrer, Deborah Dillon, Linda Hopkins, Glenda Pickerel, Beth Pruitt, and Ernie Shepherd,  Melissa White, score keeper and Jenna King (singer).

The 2019 Woolwine Elementary Pageant will be scheduled for the spring of 2019.
