CLARENCE WESLEY CAULEY
Clarence Wesley Cauley, 81, of Patrick Springs, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018, at Woltz Hospice Home. He was born on May 31, 1937, in Martinsville. He is preceded in death by his mother, Allie Shough Cauley; wife of forty-nine years, Sarah Inez Mabe Cauley; and brother, James Willie Cauley, Jr.
He attended Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church and was former Chief and Charter Member at Patrick Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He worked at Prillaman and Pace in Martinsville from 1961 to 1973 and the Patrick County School Board Maintenance from 1973 to 1978. He opened Wesley Cauley & Son in 1978 and later became C.W. Cauley & Son, Inc. in 1991 where he worked until retirement in 2003.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Campo and husband Alan, of Stuart; son, Charles Wesley and wife Joy, of Stuart; sister, Thelma Cassell, of Patrick Springs; grandchildren, Justin Plaster, Valerie Hughes, Crystal Lawson, and Shannon Cauley; great-grandchildren, Wes Plaster, Alan Plaster, Sarah Lawson, Amilya Lawson, Asher Hughes, and Adalynn Hughes; and special friend, Reva Shough.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. The funeral service was held on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Marion Poythress and Rev. Laura Plaster officiating. CONNIE JARRETT GILLEY
Connie Jarrett Gilley, 71, of Collinsville, moved to her heavenly home on September 4, 2018. She was born in Henry County on May 4, 1947, to the late Ernest Claude Jarrett and the late Virginia Harrell Jarrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, who she couldn’t wait to see.
Connie is survived by a son, Paul “David” Gilley, Jr, of Collinsville; a daughter, Angie Myers, of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Jordan Myers, of Collinsville and Emily Myers, of Danville; one great-grandson Allan Myers; her brother, Michael Jarrett, of Bassett.
She loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a long time member of Freedom Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and loved singing in the choir. In her later years, she attended Crosspoint Church. She also had a passion for writing poetry. She won an award with one of her poems and also published a book.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support and very special thanks goes out to Mountain Valley Hospice for such an outstanding job. We couldn’t have done this without them. Also, special thanks to Jay Norris of Norris Funeral Home, who truly helped relieve the burdens throughout our mothers illness and death. His caring and concern goes above anything we could have asked.
A funeral was held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Fort Trial Baptist Church with Dr. Joey McNeill , Reverened Tony Beach and Pastor Sammy Caldwell officiating. CAROLE SPRAKER TRIPLETT
Carole Spraker Triplett, 76, of Bassett, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at her beautiful home. She was born in Patrick County on May 23, 1942, to the late Edgar P. Roberson and the late Edna Foley Roberson of Stuart. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eldon “Gray” Spraker and an infant brother, Kermit Edgar Roberson.
She was a “jack of all trades.” She could take apart a computer, sew, craft, make dolls, jewelry, homemade cards and was a great cook to her large family and friends. After marrying Robert “Bobby” Triplett in 1972, together they ran Triplett’s Grocery until they retired in 2002.
She was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church where she worked tirelessly as a church secretary and helped with the Bible college. In everything she did, she was a witness to the Lord. She had a heart of gold and would often give away different things she made as her testimony to the Lord. God received a good and faithful servant. She is now an angel in Heaven as the angel she was who walked among us. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. “Bobby” Triplett; children, Carolyn S. Hale (Tommy) and Barbara S. Midkiff (Ken); stepchild, Tammy Triplett; sister, Betty Joe Thomas (Sherman); niece, Sandra Clark (Lee); two granddaughters, Heather Billingsley and Amanda Gardner (Rusty); seven great grandchildren, Hunter and Rileah, Colton, Ana, Brytn, Keigyn and Elya.
The funeral service was held on Friday, September 7, 2018 with Rev. Brandon DuPont, Rev. Ron Peal and Rev. Ricky Randall officiating. Burial was in the Helms Family Cemetery.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Home Health Care Nurses especially Martha, CNA, Hospice Care Nurses, CCU nurses, Hope, Valarie, Heather, Dr. George, Davita Dialysis Center, Dr. Gomez, Dr. Palone and staff among a host of others.
