William Elash Rorrer

Brother William Elash Rorrer, age 78 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on February 25, 1944, to the late Cephus Rorrer and Esther Atkins Rorrer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rorrer was preceded in death by his first wife, Ilene Sheppard Rorrer; a brother, Robert Rorrer; and a sister, Dorothy Morrison. He was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church and had been a pastor for White Dove Baptist Church. He was a classic car enthusiast who enjoyed picking on people and making them laugh. He truly loved his family and his little dogs.

Brother Rorrer is survived by his wife, Elsie McAlexander Rorrer of the home; a son, Kevin Rorrer (Pamela) of Mount Airy, North Carolina; a daughter, Cindy Rigney of Ridgeway; four step-children, Curtis McAlexander (Donna) of Westfield, North Carolina; Yalanda Spence of Kingston, Tennessee; Teddy McAlexander of Stuart and Renee McAdams of Patrick Springs; five grandchildren, Jaret Rorrer (Haley), Levi Rorrer, Miranda Barrett, Chase Rigney, Wesley Rigney; nine step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Rorrer (Janice) of Woolwine; Delmas Rorrer (Annette) Collinsville; a sister, Margie Wood (Lester) of Woolwine; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Brother Rorrer will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Kelly Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
