Sallie Imogene Arrington Hooker

Mrs. Sallie Imogene Arrington Hooker, age 91, of Claudville, Virginia, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Patrick County on March 4, 1931, to the late Walter Green Arrington and Sallie Elva Anderson Arrington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, H. Gordon Hooker, Sr., one son, Gordon Hooker, Jr., one granddaughter, Tracey Anderson, two brothers, Claude Arrington, Junior Arrington, two sisters, Ruth Lawson, and Mary Alice Sheppard. Mrs. Hooker was a member at Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish the memory of Sallie Hooker are two daughters, Sharon Hooker of Claudville, Virginia, Linda Hooker Rakes (Everett) of Stuart, Virginia; one son, John Hooker (Lisa) of Claudville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Malinda Riggs, Sarah Kelly, Caroline Jones, Charlotte Dollyhigh, Bradford Rakes; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Frankie Tilley of Mooresville, North Carolina; several special nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Sallie Hooker will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Gary Combs and Phillip Adams officiating. The burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is serving the Hooker family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their tremendous care and kindness given to their mom.
