Mr. Danny Dale Scott, age 75 of Woolwine, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at The Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born in Roanoke on July 12, 1947, to the late G.K. Scott and Bessie Brogan Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Garnett, Dwight, and David Scott. Danny started working as a mechanic, welder, and general handyman at Griffith Lumber. He then drove a truck for over 30 years of the 43 years he worked there. His CB handle was “Handyman”. He enjoyed working on and fixing just about anything, especially working on and riding motorcycles, old cars, and race cars. He coached little league baseball and loved spending time with family and friends and working with his son in the garage. He was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone.

Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Julia Griffith Scott of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Rita Scott of Stuart; one grandchild, Amber Koloda and husband, Michael of Collinsville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet and Caley DeHart, Frances Allen all of Floyd; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilfred Scott, Bobby and Mildred Scott all of Bassett, Larry and Ruth Scott of Floyd; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Brother Noel Naff officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family asks that those attending the service drive their old, classic cars, if they have one as Danny loved old classic cars. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
