Ms. Evelyn Catherine Puckett, age 97 of Spencer, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at her home. She was born in Kibler Valley, Virginia on June 2, 1925, to the late Benjamin Puckett and Cynthia Blanche Croaff Puckett Wilson. In addition to her parents, Ms. Puckett was preceded in death by a sister, Lida Ruth Prater and a brother, Glenn Puckett. She loved babies, her family, laughter, and all things chocolate. She was known for her quick wit.
Ms. Puckett is survived by two special nieces, Marie Patterson and husband, David and Frankie Anthony and husband, Jimmy all of Patrick Springs, VA; one special nephew, Phil Prater of Mount Airy, NC; two nieces Darlene Potts of Claudville, VA and Glenna Puckett of Winston Salem, NC; two special caregivers, Samantha Haley of Spencer, VA and Rebbecca Barnett of Patrick Springs, VA and many other caregivers; her beloved fur baby Blackie; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
A funeral for Ms. Puckett will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Curt Ashley officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
