Sallie Mary Walker Pendleton, age 89, of Stuart, died at The Blue Ridge Therapy Connection on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
She was born in Patrick County on August 20, 1926, and was a daughter of the late Grady Walker and Bertie Rorrer Walker. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lacy Mays, Nannie Rakes and Ada Lawson; and seven brothers, Garland, Gordon, Fred, Curtis, Troy, Milton, and Dickerson Walker.
She was a long time member of Sycamore Baptist Church and she had retired from United Elastic Corp. with 35 years of service.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Peggy Belton and Mike of Critz, and Patsy Hughes of Stuart; two grandchildren, Marty Holt and wife Donna, and Cheryl Dillion, all of Stuart; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Holt, Kayla Pearman, Brandon Wood, and Chelsea Lawson; one great-great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rae Fain; one sister, Ellen Griffith of Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, August 15, at Sycamore Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Melton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church, c/o Nancy Midkiff, Treasurer, 171 Sycamore Church Lane, Stuart, Va., 24171.
