Alice Marie Holt Hawks, age 73, of Dobson, N.C., died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Patrick County on February 15, 1943 and was a daughter of the late David and Susie Gammons Holt. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Marion and brothers, Junior Holt, David Holt and Roger Holt.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a charter member of Dayspring Baptist Church.
Surviving are her devoted husband of nearly 58 years, Rev. Johnny Ray Hawks; daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Henry Dean, Betty and A.W. Leftwich, Vicky and Jeff McMillian and Dawn and Chris Marshall; sons, Danny Hawks and Leon Hawks; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Archie Beverly, Esther and Ray Martin, Mae Whitt and Betty Spencer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Ronda Holt, Ronnie and Mary Holt, and Wayne and Wanda Holt; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev Donnie Holyfield. Burial was in Skyline Memory Gardens.
