Arval Wayne “Peanut” Plaster

Mr. Arval Wayne “Peanut” Plaster, age 82 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Henry County on September 18, 1940, to the late Arval Conner Plaster and Eleanor Rorrer Plaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Plaster; two sisters, Barbara Cannaday and Debbie Burgart; a father-in-law, King Alfred Morrison; and a step-father-in-law, Russell Mize. “Peanut” worked for Mitchell Motor Company, then Bassett Furniture Industries, and later retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He enjoyed fishing, watching and feeding birds, and watching NASCAR (especially car #21). He was best known for his jovial personality; pulling a practical joke, picking on friends, and making people laugh.

Mr. Plaster is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sylvia Morrison Plaster of the home; one son, Dwayne Adams and Brandy Johnson of Palm Beach, Florida; one grandson, Michael Adams and wife, Casey of Wichita, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Saige, Devin, and Landin Adams; five nephews, Todd Plaster, Brad Plaster, Drew Plaster, Darren Thomas, and Dustin Thomas; mother-in-law, Katherine Scott Morrison; brother-in-law, Billy Burgart; sisters-in-law, Elaine Plaster and Donna Thomas and husband, Sparks; and his faithful canine companion, Little Buddy.

A funeral service for Mr. Plaster will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Richard Dodson and Hospice Chaplin, Dr. Daniel Collins. Interment will immediately follow in the Fairystone Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department, 6687 Fairystone Park Hwy., Stuart, VA 24171. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
