Barbara Tresene Scales, 23, of Martinsville, died Tuesday, June 22, 2016, of injuries received in an automobile accident.
She was born in Rocky Mount on November 24, 1992, and was a daughter of Eugene and Teresa Beal Scales.
She was a member of Agape Bible Christian Fellowship where she served with the Children Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Women’s Drama Team, Flowers Décor Ministry and the Praise Dance Team.
Surviving are her parents of the home; one godson, Cameron Talley of Martinsville; two sisters, India Moore of Durham, N.C.; and Brea Scales of Roanoke; three half-sisters, Monica Jones of Greensboro, N.C.; Shalita Scales and Amelia Foster, both of Martinsville; two half-brothers, Brandon Talley, of Stuart, and Jaden Talley of Martinsville; maternal grandmother, Audrey Beal of Martinsville; maternal grandfather James Taylor, of Martinsville; and godparents, Christopher and Branetta Dalton of Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Galilean House of Worship with Dr. C. Lee Hagwood and Elder Alan Preston officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church one half hour prior to the funeral.
Arrangements are by Hines Funeral Services.
