<a href="http:\/\/www.mountainmedianews.com\/enterprise\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/obit-shough.jpg" rel="attachment wp-att-3591"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-3591" src="http:\/\/www.mountainmedianews.com\/enterprise\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/obit-shough-229x300.jpg" alt="obit shough" width="229" height="300" \/><\/a>Richard Luther Shough Jr., 96, of Martinsville, died on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.\r\nHe was born on May 13, 1920, and was a son of the late Annie Shough and Richard Luther Shough Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ray Shough; a sister, Pauline Shough Plaster and husband James; two brothers, Raymond Shough and wife Tava, and Eldon Shough.\r\nHe was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and was self-employed as a paint contractor. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in Panama.\r\nHe is survived by his sister-in-law, Colleen Shough of Patrick Springs, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Sunday at Providence United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Vernon officiating. A private burial followed the memorial service.
